The 5 Phases of Content Marketing You Just Can’t Ignore
Six years ago, Alex Hormozi told his clients to stop making content. He wasn’t totally wrong. Back then, most businesses were wasting time with random posts that didn’t drive sales.
But the world has changed — and so has his strategy.
Today, if you want to grow on Instagram (or any platform), you need to understand the 5 phases of building a content machine. Most people never get past phase two.

Here’s the breakdown:
Phase 1: Just Start
Post something. Anything. Most businesses don’t even do this.
Phase 2: Get Consistent
Pick a cadence (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.) and stick to it. Consistency signals you’re legit.
Phase 3: Expand to All Platforms
Take your message and package it across multiple platforms. Same idea, different format. (A tweet → IG reel → TikTok short).
Phase 4: Max Out Volume
Once you understand each platform, post as much as they’ll allow. On IG/TikTok that could mean multiple times a day. Volume is your key.
Phase 5: Capture + Create
Go beyond just making content — capture experiences, repurpose calls, lives, Q&As, and scale across every channel. This is where content starts driving predictable growth.
The Two Objectives of Content
Not all content has the same goal. Alex Hormozi splits it into two:
Lead Nurture (Phases 1–2)
Content here isn’t about new customers — it’s about looking credible when someone checks you out.
Post something recent so you look active.
Have a few strong pieces that build trust.
Give your sales team content they can send to prospects between calls.
Lead Generation (Phases 3–5)
This is when your content itself becomes the thing which starts bringing in new followers, leads, and customers. Platforms push your content to new people because it keeps users engaged.

Content at Phase 1–2 is like your business card. Without it, you look dead.
Content at Phase 3–5 is how you scale beyond referrals and ads.
The secret = start small, then build systems to multiply output.
